Gregory Alan Moody, 56, of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, December 8, 2019 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born in Torrance, California on January 8, 1963 to Alfred and Ivaline Moody.
Greg has lived in Jonesboro almost all of his life and was a member of the Christian Valley Christian Church. He loved to Rodeo. He took part in the Arkansas Cowboys Association Finals Rodeo (Team Roping) in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Greg enjoyed deer hunting and riding horses. Most of all, Greg loved his family.
In addition to his father, Alfred Moody, Greg is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ollie and Maggie Maxwell; his paternal grandparents, Orvil and Mae Moody; and great nephew, Jackson Tyler Morris.
Greg is survived by his wife of 14 years, Sherry Moody, of the home; mother Ivaline Moody of Jonesboro; two brothers, Terry (Margaret) Moody and Alex (Jodi) Moody both of Jonesboro; nieces and nephews, Kim (Devin) Tate, Jennifer McCormick, Macy Jo Moody, and Max Moody; and great nieces and nephew, Emily Morris, Abby McCormick, Rileigh Tate, and Sadler McCormick.
A visitation will be held Monday, December 9, 2019 from 4-7 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 10 am Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Gibson Cemetery with Mitch Ford officiating. Active pallbearers will include: Randall Blankenship, Kenneth (Buttermilk) Wyatt, Lawrence Fielder, Randy Emerson, Dave Betts, Heath Hooker Robert Corbitt, and Stormy Peel. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Miller, Brooks Cravens, Stan Salmons, Bryan Beck, and Bob Wright.
