Goldine Templeton, 83, of Jonesboro, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center surrounded by family and a very close friend. Born on August 29, 1940, to the late Clyde Elsworth and Wilda Leota Cox in Weiner, Arkansas Goldine leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A devout member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. Her vibrant spirit and warm heart could be felt by all who knew her. She was a true social butterfly, always ready with a smile and a kind word for anyone she encountered. Goldine's zest for life was evident in her diverse interests and passions. Whether she was traveling to new destinations, enjoying a lively game of bingo, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen, she approached each activity with enthusiasm and joy.
Goldine's greatest joy, however, was found in the company of her beloved family and friends. She cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, relishing in the laughter and love they shared. Her marriage to her loving husband, Jack Templeton, was a source of enduring happiness and companionship throughout the years.
In her professional life, Goldine worked as a Secretary at Mack Trucks in Memphis, where she not only excelled in her role but also found her soulmate in Jack. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Goldine is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Leota Cox, her beloved husband, Jack Templeton, her brother, Robert Cox, her sister, JoAnn Davis, and her grandson, Miles Greeno. She is survived by her daughters, Michele Templeton Freeman of Jonesboro and Amanda Jo Greeno and husband John of Weiner; her sisters, Joyce Griffin of Jonesboro and Arnita Reed of Olive Branch; a special sister-in-law Chlorita Cox ; her grandchildren, Myla Claire Greeno (Hunter Adams) of Trumann and Connor Lee Freeman of Jonesboro; and her great-grandchild, Wilder Claire Adams of Trumann, a host of family, several special friends, and a lifetime of friends.
A visitation will be held at Walnut Street Baptist Church, Wednesday, May 15, 2024 starting at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Glen Putnam officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Waldenburg. Active pallbearers will include; Michael Davis, Scott McAdams, Chris McAdams, John Greeno, Hunter Adams, and Drew Merryman. Honorary pallbearers will include; Bill Cooper, Bill Freeman, Carter Freeman, Matt McAdams, Norman Wardlow, and the Joyful Sunday School class at Walnut Street Baptist Church
Goldine Templeton's legacy of love, kindness, and joy and her love for Jesus will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
