Goldie Lee Rose, 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. She lived most of her early years in Nettleton after marrying the love of her life, Leonard “LC” Rose of 54 years. Later on moving to Brookland where they raised their seven children. Goldie worked for ASU and Frolic Footwear but devoted her life to her home and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Garland and Frances Ishmael, her husband, Leonard, one son, Buddy Rose; one daughter, Leota Rose; one brother, Bobby Ishmael; one sister, Frances Norton.
She is survived by one son, Lonnie Rose of Trumann and his wife Donna; four daughters, Mary Reed of Paragould and her husband Donald; Helen Lee of Hardy and her husband Leamon; Sherry Byrd of Byhalia, Mississippi and her husband Charles; Connie Matthews of Brookland and her hasband Mike; two sisters, Edna Ova and Pat Coggins of Jonesboro; one brother, Sammy Ishmael of Trumann, and eight grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be at Emerson Memorial Chapel on Friday, 2:00 PM with Brother Charles Privett officiating. Burial will be in Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandchildren, Amos Chambers III, Jennifer Samuels, Shannon Reed, Michael Matthews, D.J. McCamey, along with Harold Perrin and Jackie Reed. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Stallings, James Whittaker, Dr. James Robinette, Dr. Darrell Ragland, Freddie Coggins, Terry Coggins, Keith Ishmael and Bobby Ishmael, Jr.
