Gloria Jean Grisham

Gloria Jean Layne Grisham, 70, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at NEA Baptist Hospital.

Gloria was born on January 26, 1947 to the late Bob and Iwanda Wilcoxson Layne in Jonesboro. She retired as a school teacher from the Arkansas and Missouri school systems. After retiring from teaching school she opened up a restaurant called Gloria Jean’s in Jonesboro. She was a very selfless lady that loved her family and friends very much. She was of the Baptist belief, and attended the Magnolia Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by a sister, Karen Lee Sanders; one grandchild, Trey Haney.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Barber and husband, Russ of Walnut Ridge; adopted children, Shane Minton and his wife Missy and Stacey Haney and her husband Tracy of Hardy; brother, Ronnie Layne and wife Nan of Jonesboro; sister, Tammy Arias of Jonesboro; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren two; two nieces, Sarah Burke and Emily Carvell; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
All other services will be private.
