Glenda Marie Sanders

Glenda Marie Sanders, of Jonesboro, wife of John Sanders, died on February 28, 2011 after a long bout with cancer. She was a courageous lady and fought hard. She had many friends that helped take care of her and she loved and appreciated all of them.

Glenda enjoyed gardening and was known as the “Iris Lady” and loved sharing the irises with other people. She and John spent many hours in their yard. She was a member of Valley View Extension Homemakers Club and worked at City Water & Light.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Adelia Cofer; brother, Leroy Cofer; and sister, Josie Mynatt.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John Sanders of the home; 2 sons and daughters- in- law, Keith & Renee Sanders and Kraig & Cathy Sanders all of Little Rock, AR; 5 grandchildren, who were the light of her eyes, Zachary Sanders, Anna Sanders, Chloe Sanders, Jacob Sanders, and Eli Sanders.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3:00 PM in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Edward Pruett officiating. Burial will follow at Keller’s Chapel Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Thompson, Rick Turman, Steve Stark, Tony Brock, Andy Lamb, and Lomer Turney.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 until time of service at Emerson Funeral Home.
