Glenda Sue Johansen (Morris), 76, of Jonesboro passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was born July 23, 1948 in Williford, Arkansas. Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years and 8 months, Paul Johansen Jr; Her parents,  Amos and Mattie Morris; four brothers, Eugene Morris, Bob Morris, Albert Morris, and Robert Morris; three sisters, Mildred Laybourne, Ellen Williams, and Kathy Hogan.

Glenda is survived by one sister, Phyllis Gandy (Pete) of Harrisburg; three daughters, Tina Ingle Lesley (Mike), Tammy Ingle Newby (Oscar), and Terrie Ingle Beck all of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Nichuita Newby-Sisk(Breanna), Adam Newby (Jennifer), Matthew Beck (Bethie), Jonathan Beck (Hailey) and Terra Beck; twelve great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews; a very special lifelong friend and father to their three daughters, Clint Franklin “Bodie” Ingle and her son, adopted by heart, Michael Walker.

Glenda retired from the Johansen Shoe Store, which she managed, after working as a cosmetologist.

Glenda will be lovingly remembered for her beautiful smile, quick wit, infectious laugh, energy and enthusiasm for life, giving nature, keen attention to details and unwavering love and support for all family and friends; and if you were her friend you were considered family.

Glenda enjoyed taking trips with friends and family, playing golf with Sage Meadows LGA, music, dancing, gardening, decorating, puzzles, lots of coffee, playing Rook and board games. She was very competitive and cut her competitors no slack, whether they were “80 years old or 8 years…” She loved to win! Glenda leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, warmth, strength, and determination to always find joy in life. Her family was her greatest gift. Glenda is now a cherished memory continuing to live in our hearts until we are blessed to be reunited.

The visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

The service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.
