Glenda Ruth Craft, 95, of Jonesboro formerly of Memphis passed away Friday, August 1, 2023 at Audrey’s Special Home in Hamburg. She was born February 13, 1928 in Jonesboro to the late Cecil and Grace McDaniel Perkins. Glenda was a descendant of John F. McDaniel, a founding pioneer family of Craighead County. She was a faithful member of Valley View Church of Christ. Glenda began a career in banking at Citizens Bank in Jonesboro and later retired from Leader Federal Savings and Loan in Memphis. She enjoyed poetry, traveling, sewing, playing cards and spending time with family.
In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Jim Craft; her son, Brent Craft; son in law, Mack Ramsey and 7 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Jan (Jerry Ray) Hambrick of Crossett, Judy Ramsey of Jonesboro; 5 grandchildren: Andee (Greg) Johnson, Zach Hambrick, Steven (Amanda) Ramsey, David (Brianne) Ramsey, Elizabeth (Blake) Boggs; 4 great grandchildren: Baylee Herrin, Reed Day, Brooks Ramsey, Callie Ramsey and 1 great great-granddaughter, Brylee Herrin.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Steven Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
