Gladys Marie Sollis

Gladys Marie Sollis, 68, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Baptist NEA Medical Center. She had lived in Jonesboro for the past six years, moving here from Evening Shade, Arkansas. She was a member of the Nettleton Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd Dean Smith, her parents and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Floyd Dean Smith Jr., of Paragould, Arkansas; daughters, Vicky Vinson and her husband Mike of Corning, Arkansas; Deanna Barton and her husband Darrell of Bono, Arkansas; Sherry Hibbs and her husband Dale of Jonesboro; and Cheryl Stewart of Bono; brothers, Leon Cavitt, Paragould; Eugene “Speck” Cavitt, Jonesboro; Thurman Cavitt, Corning; sisters, Shirley Holt, Paragould; Bithia Cavitt, Corning; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday January 30, 2008, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Stan Ballard officiating. A committal service will be at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon at Corning Cemetery and Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Pallbearers are Terry Rapert, Bruce Catt, Johnny Colley, Kerry Childs, Jay Counts, Terry Smith and Sammy Walker. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 Tuesday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
