Gladys Carter Hiett

January 28, 1915 — August 12, 2007

Gladys Carter Hiett, 92, of Mountain Home, formerly of Pocahontas, died Sunday morning at Care Manor in Mountain Home.

Born in the Apt community near Jonesboro, Mrs. Hiett lived several years in Leachville and Pocahontas before moving to Mountain Home a few years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Pocahontas.

Gladys was a member of PEO Sisterhood, Chapter AC of Leachville, and was the Primary Sunday school class teacher at First Baptist Church of Leachville. She was preceded in death by her parents: L.G. and Maude Bennett Carter.

Survivors include:
Her husband: G. Atherton Hiett of Mountain Home;

1 Son: G. Atherton Hiett, Jr. of Little Rock;

1 Daughter: Linda (Mrs. Don) Breytspraak of Mountain Home;

4 Grandchildren, and
10 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, August 16, 2007, at 11:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Dr. Emil Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Grandsons: Don Breytspraak, Jr., Gordon Hiett, III, Brent Chambers, and Eric King.

Visitation will be held Thursday morning, 10-11, prior to the funeral service.
