Ginger Dawn Adams

Ginger Dawn Adams, 77, of Jonesboro passed from this life Wednesday, January 13 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born to the late Homer and Juanita Hickman on October 16, 1943 in Caraway.

After moving from Black Oak, Ginger had spent the last 45 years living in Jonesboro. Ginger was a member of the Arkansas Master Gardeners Club from the class of 2007. She was the Chair for the NEA District Fair from 2011 – 2014 and was known as the Seed Lady from 2015 – 2018. Ginger was a member of the Jonesboro Porcelain Artist Club, and one of the original members of the Canasta Card Club that started in 1965.  Ginger was a grandmother, mother, beautician, two time breast cancer survivor, and a woman of many talents. Ginger spent her life traveling the world. She graduated from Arkansas State University in 2011 at the age of 68 years and studied abroad in Italy for a semester.

In addition to her parents, Ginger is preceded in death by her husband, Dwight “Ike” Adams.

Ginger is survived by two daughters, Tammy (Doug) Griffin and Amy Metcalf both of Jonesboro; brother, Tony (Nancy) Hickman of Black Oak; three grandchildren, Justin (Whitney) Griffin, Amber Metcalf, and Hannah (Sam) Barre; and four great grandchildren, Owen Griffin, Chanler Griffin, Waverly Phillips, and Wilder Phillips.

A visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Dunigan officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with active pallbearers being: Mark Hickman, Chett Hickman, Brett Hickman, Matt Holt, James Mann, and Bud Mann. Honorary pallbearers will include: Matt Hickman, Harold Clark, Kent Kelly, Andy Griffin, Mitchell Caldwell, and Larry Adams.
