Gilbert Rainey Jr, 89, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Monday, October 26, 2026 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born May 13, 1937 in Jonesboro to the late Gilbert Rainey Sr and Vivian Rainey. In addition to his parents, Gilbert is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette “Jan” Rainey as well as his sister, Martha Fye. He is survived by his son, Steve (Leah) Rainey of Kent, Ohio; daughter, Paula Browning of Jonesboro; grandchildren, David Browning, Laura Hennings, Scott Rainey, John Browning and Lyndon Rainey, and seven great-grandchildren as well as one niece and one nephew. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.
