Gerrilyn Ann Keene

May 5, 1935 — April 23, 2019

Gerrilyn Ann Keene, 83, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Floyd and Mildred Knight in Franklinton, Louisiana on May 5, 1935 . Gerry has resided in Jonesboro since 1964. She was a long time member of Walnut Street Baptist Church.

Gerry grew up on a dairy farm in Franklinton, Louisiana. She received her BSE from Southeastern University. Gerry worked at the Agriculture Extension Service and then as a School Teacher at Annie Camp Middle School. She loved playing bridge, cooking for family and friends, fishing, and recieved several Blue Ribbons for her quilt making.

Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mildred Knight.

Gerry is survived by her husband, James Howard Keene, of the home of 59 years; two sons, James William (Sherry) Keene of Stevensville, TX and Keith Howard (Martha) Keene of Ransom Canyon, TX; daughter, Sherri Ann (Brad) Baskette of Pennsville, NJ; sister, Gayle (Darryl) Rester of Franklinton, LA; five grandchildren, Jill Keene, Rudy Robbins, Beth Baskette, Jamie Keene, and Bo Keene; and one great granddaughter, Lilly Robbins.

A visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home.
