Geroline Lunsford

June 23, 1932 — November 4, 2018

Geroline “Gerri” Lunsford, 86, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Born in Waldo, Arkansas, Geroline earned an undergraduate degree from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia and grew up in Eudora, Arkansas. She served as a professor for 32 years at the University of Nevada-Reno, and as Head of the Northeast Nevada Cooperative Extension. She was a champion of the 4-H program and started a fund supporting students attending National competitions, “The Elko County Unsponsored Trip fund”. She lived in Elko, Nevada, before moving to Jonesboro, AR four years ago.

Geroline was of the Baptist faith and was an avid reader. She was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals, Golden State Warriors and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Geroline was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Ted" Lunsford; brothers Alan Coleman and Hollis Coleman; sisters-in-law: Jeanne Coleman, Ina Coleman and Shirley Coleman; and niece, Sharon Coleman.

Survivors include one brother, Clyde E. Coleman of Jonesboro; 3 nieces and their husbands: Charlene and Charles "Chick" Kitson of Radnor, Pennsylvania, and Jo Ann Coleman and Brian Reddick of Little Rock, Kaki Coleman and Martin Evans of Oakland, CA, 2 nephews and their wives: Robert L. “Bobby” and Terri Coleman of Blytheville, and Keith and Ruby Coleman of Ruskin, Florida; and 8 great nieces and nephews.

All services and burial will be private. There will be no visitation.
