Gerardo Duran Diaz, 53, de Jonesboro, pasó de esta vida el 14 de Mayo, 2023 en el hospital St.Bernards. Gerardo nació el 30 de septiembre del 1969, en Morelia,Michoacán México, a sus padres Javier Duran y la difunta Alicia Díaz López. Gerardo se reúne con su madre y con su hermana Lilia Vázquez Tinoco y su cuñado Gustavo Tinoco.

Gerardo vivió por cinco años en Jonesboro después de mudarse de Evansville, IN. El trabajaba en Ruiz Custom Pools y era miembro de la iglesia Betel la Casa. A Gerardo le encantaba trabajar, se mantenía siempre activo, siempre construyendo o arreglando algo. En su tiempo libre le encantaba ver el fútbol y jugar con sus nietos, ir a pescar, ir de compras al pulgero, y le encantaba comer, en especial la comida mexicana. Le encantaba visitar a su iglesia en Evansville,IN, Vida en Abundancia. Le gustaba hablar con su mejor amigo Mauricio Gómez diariamente. Gerardo amaba la vida, siempre encontraba lo positivo y siempre cargaba una sonrisa. Más importante le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia y sus nietos.

A Gerardo le sobreviven su esposa Patricia Duran, con la cual su matrimonio duró 34 años, su padre Javier Larraga Duran, de México, sus hijas; Brenda Duran (Remi), Perla M Duran (Fernando), y Angelica Duran, sus hermanos; José Duran, Francisco Javier Duran, y Alberto Duran todos de Mexico, y sus nietos; Ayden, Ezekiel, Ariela, Zamira y dos más en camino.

Los servicios de funeral serán el 20 de Mayo del 2023 a las 10AM en Betel la Casa. La visitación anterior al funeral será el 19 de Mayo del 2023 entre las 5-7PM, también en Betel la Casa. Pastor Héctor Ruiz oficiara la ceremonia.

Gerardo Duran Diaz, 53, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on May 14, 2023 at St Bernards Medical Center. Gerardo was born September 30, 1969 in Morelia Mexico to Javier Duran and the late Alicia Díaz López . In addition to his mother, Gerardo is preceded in death by his sister, Lilia Vazquez Tinoco; and brother-in-law, Gustavo Tinoco.

Gerardo lived in Jonesboro for nearly 5 years, after moving here from Evansville, IN. He worked for Ruiz Custom Pools and was a member of Betel La Casa. Gerardo loved working. He could never sit still and was always building and making things. In his free time, Gerardo loved soccer, fishing, going to flea markets, and enjoying food, especially Mexican food. He would also visit his friends and church, Abundant Life, in Evansville. He talked with his best friend, Maruico Gomez, every day. Gerardo loved life. He was always positive. Always had a smile on his face. Most importantly, Gerardo loved being with his family and grandchildren.

Gerardo is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia Duran of the home; father, Javier Larraga Duran of Mexico; daughters, Brenda Duran (Remi) of Paragould, Perla Duran (Fernando) of Jonesboro, Angelica Duran of Evansville, IN; brothers, Jose Duran, Francisco Javier Duran, and Alberto Duran all of Mexico; and grandchildren Ayden, Ezekiel, Ariela, Zamira, and 2 on the way.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 am Saturday May 20, 2023 at Betel La Casa. A visitation will precede the service on May 19, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, also at Betel La Casa. Pastor Hector Ruiz will be officiating.
