Gerald E. Pearson

The Honorable Gerald E. Pearson of Jonesboro passed Jan. 21, 2018 in the arms of our Lord. He was just eighteen days from his 92 ^nd birthday. Gerald lived his whole life in Jonesboro & felt this was the best place in the world.

Gerald graduated from Jonesboro High School then Arkansas State and University of Arkansas law school. Gerald loved the law. He built his private practice then served as City Attorney for many years. He was elected prosecuting attorney for second District and went on to serve as district judge for twenty more years. Gerald was named the ‘best judge in Arkansas for 1989’.

The judge is survived by his son, Michael (Barbara) Pearson and his two sons: Michael Pearson and Matthew Pearson; and his daughter, DP (Guillermo) Villacis and her 3 children. Gerald was a tough judge, parent and a lamb with his grandkids.

Visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home from 5:30 – 7:30 Wednesday, January 24, 2018. A funeral service will be held at Fisher Street United Methodist Church at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 25, 2018. Burial will follow at Oaklawn cemetery.
