Gerald Dean Burns

Gerald Dean Burns, 89, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Wednesday May 16, 2018 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. Gerald was born in Mountain View, Arkansas on February 3, 1929 to the late Monroe and Coetta Mae Shores Burns. Gerald lived in Jonesboro most of his life, was a retired punch press operator, U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a faithful member of the Christian Life Center.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Calvin, Gilbert, Hubert, Dennis, Bob, Ancle and Billy Burns, sisters, Edna Brown and Alma Ramos.

Survived by his wife, Patti Burns of the home.

Daughter, Janice Lea Orr (Ed “Buster”) of Jonesboro.

Son, David Burns of Mountain View, Arkansas.

Brother, Carl Burns of Harviell, Missouri.

Sister, Thelma Powell of Timbo, Arkansas and Myrtle Mae Everidge of Mountain View, Arkansas.

Granddaughter Sherry Hufstedler (Farris ) of Jonesboro.
Great granddaughters, Jessica Henninger (Tanner) and Samantha Swindle both of Jonesboro and 2 great-great grandsons, Hunter and Reece Henninger.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday May 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Christian Life Center in Brookland with Bro. Scott Trayler officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the Christian Life Center.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Colley, David Simmons, Buster Orr and the Carmer Boys.
