George Glen Lackey, 85, of Jonesboro, passed away at his home on November 28, 2024. Glen was born in Craighead County on August 30, 1939, to the late Virgil and Ruby Lackey. In addition to his parents, Glen is preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Lackey, and his brothers Rusty, Roger, David, and Steve Lackey.
Glen spent all of his life in the Jonesboro area. He was a member of Cathedral Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. Glen worked as an auto body mechanic in Jonesboro, which fueled his love of cars. Outside of his commitment to the church and his fascination with cars, Glen kept busy with his hobbies. He was a privately trained pilot and photography enthusiast. Most importantly, Glen loved being with his family.
Glen is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gertie Lackey; son John Lackey-Inman (Michael); daughters Cindy Ayala (Chris) and Cathy L Cathey; brothers Danny and Allen Lackey; sisters Brenda Oates and Beverly Archer; grandchildren Lindsey Ashlock (Mike), Chelsey Barnett (Sye), Courtney Ghiloni (Ryan), and Dexter Cathey; great-grandchildren Carter, Aiden, Delaney, Jo Leigh, and Skylar; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am at Emerson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 30, 2024. A visitation will precede the service from 9:00 am to 10 am. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
