George Randall King, 73, of Jonesboro went to be with his heavenly father on Tuesday October 27, 2026. He was born on March 15, 1953 in Jonesboro to Ralph King and Charlene King.
George was a graduate of Arkansas State University where he was a member of the Lamda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was also a member of the Red Legs Hunting Lodge. George leaves behind a life marked by hard work and determination. He owned and operated his own heavy equipment business. Beyond his business, George pursued his passions with enthusiasm. He competed in water skiing at a high level, demonstrating the athletic ability, competitive spirit, and determination that were part of his character.
George also had a deep and abiding love for hunting. He spent as much time as possible outdoors, with duck hunting holding a particularly special place in his heart. Hunting was more than a pastime for George; it was a passion that connected him to the outdoors and the land he loved. Most importantly George was a born-again Christian whose faith in Jesus Christ was an important part of his life. He was a member of First Church Jonesboro where he shared in the fellowship of the Christian community. His memory will live on through the lives he touched, the work he accomplished and the passions that brought him joy.
George’s life reflected a spirit of independence, perseverance and faith. Whether operating heavy machinery, competing on the water or spending time in the duck blind. He pursued the things that mattered to him with commitment and enthusiasm. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy remains in the love he shared with those closest to him. May George Randall King rest in peace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and may the promise of eternal life bring comfort to Sheila and all who mourn his passing. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
George was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Charlene King; sister, Diane Carr and nephew, Timothy Levon Kuyrkendall.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila King; sisters, Kathleen King Woods and Erna Fay White; sisters-in-law, Lavada (Steve) McArthur and Mary (Wade) Kelley; nieces, Keippi (Pete) Bain and Allyson Myers Carr (Adam) White.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm on Saturday October 31, 2026 at Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:30 pm with Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will follow the service at Nettleton Cemetery.
