George Howard “Butch’ Woodbury Jr, 66, of Jonesboro died Sunday April 18, 2010 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was born in Flint, Michigan and had lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He was a 1961 graduate of Dixie High School in Dixie, Arkansas. He was a former truck driver and he proudly served his country as a member of the Mississippi National Guard. He was a faithful member of the Fairview Baptist Church for 19 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Earnestine Boling LaBarreare and his father George H. Woodbury Sr.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brenda Woodbury of the home. Two daughters, Gina (Carl) Williams of Collierville, Tennessee and Robin (Angel) Guniterez of Jonesboro.
One son, Joseph Randall (Robin) Woodbury of Jonesboro, one sister Renee (Jim) Poynor of Jonesboro; one brother, James LaBarrare of Jonesboro. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday April 21, 2010 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Reverends Don Seat and Jack Bearden officiating. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery, with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Active pallbearers are Andy White, Fred Boling, Larry Boling, Clint Boling, Scotty Simino and James Baggett.
Honorary pallbearers are his Friendship Sunday School class, James Stallings, Earl Metcalf, Ralph Boling, Ken Boling and Alex Poynor.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
