George Daugherty

George Daugherty, 85, of Jonesboro died Monday, June 30, 2014 at his home. He had lived most of his life in the Jonesboro area. George was a founding member and a deacon for North Main Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of George’s Sales and known for his many business ventures. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Daugherty and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his son, Steve Daugherty, of Jonesboro; granddaughter, Crystal Blake and great grandchildren, Caden Blake, Barrett Blake and Tucker Blake; and his longtime friend and caregivers, Carol and Reggie Allen.

Funeral services will be 10:00 Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at North Main Baptist Church with Gary Brown and Bobby Crabb officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with the Men of North Main Baptist serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the Fish Boat breakfast coffee crew. Visitation will be from 5-7 Tuesday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
