Elliott Gene Varner, 73, of Trumann passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014 at St. Bernards Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmie William and Paul Eugene Varner, two sisters, Violet Christine and Ida Ruth Varner.
Gene was born on May 13, 1941 in Black Oak to the late William A. and Vera Carlisle Varner. Gene lived most of his life in the Southern California, and was the upholstery department manager of Larry’s T-Birds and Mustangs. His hobby included woodworking, drawing, and he was an avid firearm enthusiast. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and the love he had for his family will be missed but never forgotten.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Varner of the home; one son, Stephen Varner (Kathryn) of Riverside, CA; one daughter, Katherine Varner of Reno, NV; three grandchildren, Christopher Lethco, Justin and Kaitlyn Basilescki; four sisters, Janie Gatlin of Little Rock, Margaret Bushong, Sharon Stevenson, and Caren Hughes all of Jonesboro; and a host of nieces and nephews.
All services are private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
