Gene H. Robinson

Gene H. Robinson, 83, of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, September 26, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born October 6, 1930 in Jonesboro, Ar to the late James Hervey and Dovea Jane Robinson. Gene spent his entire life living in Jonesboro and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a very ambitious man who worked his way from a paper boy to General Manager at the Jonesboro Sun where he spent 49 years of service. Gene also loved to hunt and fish. He was a fan of country music and was a regular at the round-up. He took many wedding photos while being a photographer on the side. Gene loved his family very much and spent a lot of time traveling around the country after his retirement.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons: William Eugene and Michael Dewayne Robinson; one brother: John Hervey Robinson; one sister: Ludene Gulley; one daughter-in-law: Rebecca Darlene Robinson; and one granddaughter: Brittney Nicole Graham.

Gene is Survived by his wife of 57 years, Henrietta Robinson of the home; one daughter Debra LeBlanc and one son Steven Robinson of Jonesboro; one brother: James Mandred Robinson of Jonesboro; seven grandchildren: Brannen Lovelace, Aaron Robinson, Rachael Robinson, Jase Robinson, Beau McCaughan, McCartney Robinson, and Hunter Robinson; and two great grandchildren: Benjamin Devore and McKenzie Graham.

Service will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home with Brother Mark Saddler officiating. Burial will follow at Strawfloor Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 1-3 Monday, September 29, 2014.
