Gene Cox, 83, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday morning at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born on Bono but had lived much of his life in Brinkley. He had moved back to Jonesboro about 7 years ago. He was a farmer and of the Pentecostal belief.
He is survived by his brother, Leslie Cox, Flint, Michigan; sisters, Marie Spencer, Otwell, Pauline Tidwell, Bono; several nieces and nephews and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Scotty Tidwell, Perry Tidwell, Sid Tidwell, Steve Stevenson, Frankie Clines, and Terry Freeman.
Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
