With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Genaro Jerez, who passed on March 1, 2026. He was 76 years old.
Genaro was a father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved children: Agustina, Santiago, Felix, Angustia(deceased), Jaco, Noel, Alexander, Abel(deceased), Berlin, Yanibel, and Jatnna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Anacelia Jerez. He is also survived by his siblings Beatriz, Santana, Luz Maria, Cristobal, Bienvenido, Lesbia, Eustacio, Emiliana, Florencia, Marino, and Juan Jerez. His legacy continues through his 29 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and extended family who carry his name and values forward.
Genaro deeply loved his homeland, the Dominican Republic. It was there that his heart felt most at peace. He was a hardworking farmer and took great pride in his ranch — land he cultivated with his own hands. The soil, the animals, and the simple beauty of country life brought him joy. Though his wish was to take his final breath in the land he loved, health circumstances required him to remain in the United States for medical care. Even so, the Dominican Republic always lived within him — in his stories and his values.
He was a man of quiet strength. Reserved and shy by nature, Genaro did not seek attention or praise. He was kind to others. His humility was one of his greatest qualities.
Genaro was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness in 1972, because of this many others had the opportunity to know jehova because of him. His family looks forward with confidence to the fulfillment of God’s word, and jehovas' promise of resurrection and everlasting life. This faith continues to comfort those who loved him.
Though our hearts ache in his absence, His hands may rest now, but the seeds he planted — in the land and in the hearts of his family — will continue to grow for generations.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. 🤍
