Gaylor Rhea Orndorff

Gaylor Rhea Orndorff, 81, passed from this life on June 13, 2023 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. Gaylor was born January 23, 1942 to Mary Lucille and Garland Orndorff in Adairville, Kentucky.  During high school, Gaylor raised tobacco to pay his college tuition. He attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He served in the Air Force for four years as a jet engine mechanic attaining the rank of Staff Sargent.

In 1970, Gaylor began work with Case IH initially selling farm equipment, later attaining managerial positions which continued until his retirement in 2012. He moved to Jonesboro in 1997.

During retirement, Gaylor became active in the Jonesboro Elks Lodge, the St. Bernards Auxiliary and First Methodist Church.  He enjoyed traveling and watching University of Kentucky basketball. He loved his God, his country, his family and his friends.

In addition to his parents, Gaylor was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Henry Horlander.

Gaylor is survived by his wife of 21 years, of the home, Jane, his sister Mary Garland Horlander of Adairville, Kentucky, his sons Bradley Orndorff of Orange Beach, Alabama, Christopher Keyton (Kathy) of Hurricane, West Virginia, David McNeely (Kristi) of Oliver Branch, Mississippi and daughter Lisa Harrison (John) of Nashville, Tennessee, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and 2 nieces.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, June 16 at Emerson Funeral Home with Reverend John Miles, Christopher Keyton and Dean Lamberth officiating. A visitation will precede the service from 1 pm until service time. Burial will be private.
