Gayle Ballinger Autry, 73, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Gayle was born in Jonesboro and was a 1959 graduate of Jonesboro High School. She attended Arkansas State University before moving to St. Louis. Gayle lived several years in Washington, DC area before moving back to Jonesboro in 1989.
Gayle worked several years for Area Agency on Aging and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro where she was an active member of the choir. She was a member of Jonesboro Civitan where she served as treasurer and while living in Maryland enjoyed participating in community theatre. Gayle was preceded in death by her mother, Reo Burke Sherrell Smith.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Terri and Daniel Dennehy of Sarasota, Florida;
one son, Scott Ballinger of Jonesboro;
one grandson, Dylan Dennehy, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of First United Methodist Church with Rev. John Miles officiating. There will be no graveside committal service.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.
