Gavin Grimstead Craig

Gavin Grimstead Craig, 17, of Jonesboro peacefully passed from this life on May 31, 2016, with his loving family by his side.
Gavin was born on July 1, 1998 to Mitch W. and Teresa “Chris” Craig in Jonesboro. Gavin and his family attended Christian Valley Christian Church in Valley View. He was also a member of the Valley View High School class of 2017. He loved spending time with his family and friends, but he really enjoyed being outdoors. Gavin loved to go hunting, fishing, camping, and riding four wheelers.

Gavin was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Rev. W.T. and Janevarate Grimstead; paternal great grandparents, Mr. Louis and Bethel Ferrell and Mr. F.N. and Ruth Craig; maternal great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George A. Sigmon, Mrs. Evelyn Lawson, and Mr. Frederick Grimstead.

Gavin is survived by his parents, Mitch W. and Teresa “Chris” Craig; two sisters, Gracesyn and Gabrielle Craig; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Craig all of Jonesboro and Mrs. Judy Ellison of Blytheville; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:00am at the Christian Valley Christian Church with Mitch Ford and Ron Dawson officiating. Interment will directly follow the church at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mickey Craig, Marty Ellison, Paxton Ellison, Dr. Todd Higginbotham, Brad Aiken, and Velon Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be the graduating class of 2017, Dr. Giles Robinson, Dr. Jessica Valdez, Dr. Raja Kahn, Dr. Frederick Boop, Dr. Brock Allen, and Mr. Jessie Gunter.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel.
