Gary Woods

August 29, 1949 — September 25, 2016

Gary Lee Woods, 67, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, at the family weekend home in Cherokee Village.

Born in Marked Tree, Gary was a 1967 graduate of Trumann High School and moved to Jonesboro shortly thereafter. He was the owner of Wholesale Carpets in Jonesboro, was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, the Fast Glass Corvette Club and the Cherokee Village Hunt and Gun Club. Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Lee, Jr. and Louise Woods.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Scott Woods of the home;
1 son, Scott Woods of Jonesboro;
1 daughter and son-in-law: Stacey and Doug Garretson of Garland, Texas;
3 step sons: Don Arwood of Mountain Home, Tim Arwood of Jonesboro, and David Arwood of Elizabeth;
9 grandchildren;
1 great grandchild; and
5 cousins who are close as sisters: Rhonda, Debbie, Jana, Regina and Gayla.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Hemund officiating. Private burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time on Thursday.

Active pallbearers include Chad Coleman, Will Coleman, Matthew Bell, Nathan Arwood, Mark Malin, and John David Harrington. Honorary pallbearers include Jim Wallin, Mark Loar, James Dubois, members of the Fast Glass Corvette Club and Cherokee Village Hunt and Gun Club.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
