Gary Don Wicker, 79, of Jonesboro, died peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on July 1, 2026.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte Roedel Wicker, with whom he shared 59 blissful years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughters, Darah Price (Lynn) of Brookland and Adrianne Whitlow of Brookland; his grandchildren, Mitchell Price, Lydia Stewart, Jack Price, Piper Smith, and Clair Whitlow; and his great-grandchildren, August, Wilder, Merritt, Sully, and Jameson.
Don is also survived by his sisters, Pat Blake of Florida and Rosanne Smith of Cherokee Village.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Wanda Wicker; his twin babies, Stewart; and his faithful dog, Nipper, who was his companion for 17 years.
Don was a 1964 graduate of Brookland High School. He attended Arkansas State University and built a long career in the transportation industry, retiring from Central Freight. Although retired, he occasionally enjoyed helping on the farm. He especially loved spending time at Lake Norfork and enjoyed taking several cruises with his family. Don was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to UAMS Rockefeller Cancer, 4018 West Capital Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72205, or to Nettleton Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
