Gary O’Neal Tosh of Jonesboro, AR was born September 13th, 1947 and departed this world on January 28th, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born to Ernest and Elfreeda Tosh in Caraway, Arkansas. Gary graduated from Nettleton High School in 1965. He joined the Navy and became a Veteran of Foreign Wars, fighting in Vietnam from 1967 to 1971. Gary was a man of many fields of knowledge. He was a firefighter who retired from the Jonesboro Fire Department. Then, he worked as a truck driver until he semi-retired. He enjoyed working at Sage Meadows as a groundsman for about ten years until he retired permanently.

Gary loved playing golf with his siblings, watching wrestling and NASCAR, but most of all, he loved his family. As the oldest of six siblings, he was always the one to tell jokes and play pranks, which never failed to make the family laugh and smile. Gary was a thoughtful man who loved his Lord and Savior.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Tosh, mother, Elfreeda Tosh; his daughter; Keri Tosh; brother, Lynn Tosh; and his sister, Rhonda Cline. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pavada (Susie) Tosh, his children: Butch Tosh and Andrea McGowan. Grandchildren: Joshua, Brandon, Lauren, Brody, Violet, Emma, and Sawyer. Great-Grandchildren, Remington and Kolton. Siblings: Mike(Kathy) Tosh, Sherri(Bill) Tosh-Bridger, Staci(Calvin) Sparrow; brother-in-law, Brent Cline. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at Emerson's Funeral Home on February 6th, 2026 from 12:30-1:30.

The funeral service will be at the graveside, Jonesboro Memorial Park at 2:00 PM.

Rick Carter will officiate.

Pallbearers include Jorge Cerda, Lance Roberts, Austin Circle, Daron Flowers, Tristan McGowan, and David Roberts.

Honorary Pallbearers include Dennis Crowley, Mike Mashburn, Gary Etter, Rick Thomas, Mike Owens, Larry Latimer, Brent Cline, and Willie Carter.
