Gary Don "Gd" Hurst

Gary Don “GD” Hurst, 55, of Caraway passed form this life Sunday, March 27, 2016 at St. Bernards Medical Center after a brave and courageous yearlong battle with cancer. He was born May 27, 1960 in Caraway to Matt Hurst and the late Gouilda Dunkerson Hurst. GD served 4 years in the Navy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. GD was a people person and would help anybody that needed it. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had such an infectious laughter that no one could forget.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Anita Hurst; 2 daughters, Felisha (Mike) Sanders, Tricia (Lee) Austin; parents, Matt and Mildred Hurst; 5 brothers, Jeff (Diana) Hinton, Danny (Judy) Hurst, Ronnie (Kim) Hurst, Terry (Brandy) Hinton, Phillip (Bobbie Sue) Hurst; 2 sisters, Gail (Mike) Riley, Andra (Keith) Pendegraft; 5 grandchildren, Lana Sanders, Shayna Austin, Tristan Sanders, Annabelle Austin, Parker Austin; numerous nieces and nephews and many “adopted” sons and daughters.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in Emerson Memorial Chapel.

All other services will be private.
