Gary Esch, 82, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, October 6, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He had lived in Jonesboro for 7 years, moving here from Fort Pierce, Florida. He was born in Lansing, Michigan of September 4, 1942, to Burnett and Velma Esch. He graduated from Southeastern Florida Bible College and was a Royal Ranger Leader and sponsor. He was a member of the Shepard’s Heart Church in Jonesboro. Gary enjoyed meeting people and handing out religious pamphlets and inviting people to church. He stayed active by walking the neighborhoods and riding his bicycle up until he was 81. He helped raise his grandkids and great grandkids is what kept him active and young at heart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Doris; and one brother, Bud.
Survivors include his sons, Nick Esch (Tammy) of Bartow, Florida; Scott Esch (Dewi) of Indonesia; daughter, Ginger Mullins (Neal); brother, Mike Esch (Paula) of Smackover, Arkansas; sister, Linda Esch of Conroe, Texas; two grandchildren, Doug (Amber); Alisha; six great grandchildren, Savannah, Robbie, Ashton, Chloe, Preston, and Ava.
