Gary Dewayne "Curly" Stevens, age 68, of Higden, Arkansas, formerly of Cash, departed this life on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born on July 25, 1955, to the late Bennie and Grace Stevens in Monette, Arkansas.

Gary, known fondly as "Curly" by his friends and loved ones, was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a valued member of the First Baptist Church in Cash, where his presence and infectious smile brought warmth and joy to the congregation.

Curly had a passion for the great outdoors and cherished time spent fishing and hunting. He found immense joy in the company of his family and friends, especially his beloved grandsons, Taylor and Ayden, who were the light of his life. He had an extraordinary gift for making people smile and never missed an opportunity to brighten someone's day with his genuine kindness and humor. Curly had the unique ability to make new friends wherever he went, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers: Jerry Stevens, Kenny Stevens, and Rocky Stevens.

Gary is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Jenise Stevens of Higden; his son, Bennie Stevens (Joy) of Jonesboro; his daughter, Valarie Eaton (Ron) of Cash; his brother, Danny Stevens (Judy) of Ash Flat; and his four sisters: Diane Lewis (Larry) of Ash Flat, Brenda Stevens of Harrisburg, Teresa Glidwell of Cherokee Village, and Tammy Dace (Jerry) of Bono. He also leaves behind his cherished grandsons, Taylor Stevens of Jonesboro and Ayden Eaton of Cash, several nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends who will forever hold his memory dear.

A visitation to honor and celebrate Curly’s life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Bro. Terry Simmons. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 E. Matthews Ave., Jonesboro, AR 72401, in memory of Gary.

Gary Dewayne "Curly" Stevens will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and the joy he brought to the lives of all who knew him.
