Gary Wayne Brewer

Gary Wayne Brewer, 80, of Lake City, Arkansas, passed away, September 2, 2022 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Gary was born in Mountain View, Arkansas, on February 25, 1942 to the late Alma and William Brewer. In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Michelle Brewer; one brother (Bob) and five sisters (Shirley, Dixie, Jean, Gwynne and Denva).

Gary was retired military, spending two tours serving his country during the Vietnam War. His military career had him stationed stateside, Italy and Germany. Eventually, he found his way back home after retiring from the Army, as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3). During his retirement, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and spending time on the deck of his lake house at Greers Ferry lake. More importantly, though, Gary loved being with his family.

Gary is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Connor Brewer of the home; son, Cortley Garrett Brewer of Conway Arkansas; daughter, Tonja Brewer Hall (Wayne) of Lafayette, Louisiana; brothers, Ricky Brewer of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Jerry Brewer (Yulin) of Texarkana, Arkansas; Terry Brewer (Jan) of Monette, Arkansas; Kenny Brewer of Jonesboro, Arkansas; sister, Berta Brewer of North Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Garrett, Zane, and Caden; great-grandchild Audrey; and long-time family friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
