Gary Dean Barker, 57, of Lake City passed from this life on Sunday October 11, 2026 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi. He was born June 15, 1969 in Newport to Gary J. and Wilma Barker.

Gary has lived in Lake City most of his life, having previously lived in Trumann and was a member of The Church of God. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to fish, hunt, and ride his motorcycle.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Margaret and Ted McIllwain and Jim and Margie Barker as well as a granddaughter, Ellie May Barker.

Gary is survived by his wife, Stacy Barker of the home; parents, Gary J. and Wilma Barker; son, Austin Barker; sisters, Kelli Ferrington and Ashley (Phil) Sugg; granddaughter, Maggie Barker as well as a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday October 17, 2026 from 9-10 am at Emerson Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow the visitation at 10 am with Rev. Dwayne Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jay Parnell, Kendall Guffey, Jim Wilcox, David Easley, Keith McIllwain and Warren Bright.
