Garry M. Turman, 69, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at his home. He had lived his life in Jonesboro and attended the Nettleton Baptist Church. Garry was the former owner and operator of Mr. Trophy and Engraving and the T-shirt Gallery. He served his country in the US Army National Guard 875 Engineer Battalion for 16 years. Garry was a volunteer at the Southside Softball Complex and the Miracle League. His passion was the Miracle League and those wonderful kids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond J. Turman; one brother, Billy Ray Turman; and his in-laws, Vera and J.T. Roberson.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Sharron, of the home; son, Eric Turman; daughter, Tammy Buckelew (Jon); his mother Bernice Turman and brother, Ronnie Turman (Brenda) all of Jonesboro; sisters, Mary Boden (Stanley) of Columbus Mississippi; Barbara McKee of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Tosha Rouse (Ben); Jas Turman; Kaycee Turman and Mollye Buckelew and great grandchildren Kason Rouse and Connor Turman and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 Monday, June 1, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Stan Ballard and Brother Mike Martin officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Steven Etter, Larry Brantley, David Bailey, Phillip Wheaton, Ken Douglas, John Feeherty, Robert Graham, Chris Gibson and Rusty Koster serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Southside Softball Complex past and current players and the Miracle League families.
Visitation will be from 4-6 Sunday afternoon at Emerson Funeral Home.
