Garry Owens

Garry Owens, 77 of Lake City passed from this life Saturday, March 4, 2023 at St. Bernards Medical Center.  He was born July 11, 1945 to H.R. Owens, Jr. and Hazel Northern Owens of Lake City.  Garry was a Shelter Insurance agent in Lake City for 35 years.  He enjoyed playing tennis, golf, fishing and playing cards. Garry is preceded in death by his parents H.R. Owens Jr. and Hazel Northern Owens, son Todd Owens, brother Bobby Owens, brother Ronald Owens, sister Winnie Spikes, sister Deborah Gilley, sister Janet Brewer, brother Larry Owens and son in-law Buddy Hamm.

Survivors include 3 sons, Darin (Leigh Ann) Owens of Lake City, Devin (Paula) Owens of Jonesboro, Matt (Karlee) Owens of Lowell; 3 daughters, Kerri Hamm of Virginia, Whitney (Justin) Griffin of Jonesboro and Ashlin Owens of Jonesboro; 3 brothers, Hershel (Theresa) Owens of West Memphis, Donnie (Monica) Owens of Lake City, Mike Owens of Conway; 2 sisters, Diane (George) Wright of Jonesboro, Beverly (Kenny) Lomax of Jonesboro. Grandchildren, Taylor Outlaw, Emily Owens, Bailey Dunbar, Jackson Owens, Reid Owens, Emma Kate Owens, Hudson Owens, Todd Hamm, Trey Hamm, Ashley Wilkins, Lynnlee Owens, Hollis Owens, Owen Griffin, Chanler Griffin, Landon Smith, Jayden Owens, Kylan Owens and 3 great grandchildren, Annie Outlaw, Wells Dunbar and Sullivan Hamm.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 PM at Bethabara Baptist Church of Cane Island, Lake City.  Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Jason Goad and Darin Owens officiating.  Burial will follow at Cane Island Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Garry’s nephews.
