Doris Gail Williams, 63, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, from ALS. Originally from Jonesboro, AR, Gail lived in Phoenix, AZ for 22 years before returning to Jonesboro in 2006. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ where she served as a volunteer for many years.
She was an avid outdoors woman who loved to hike Camelback or Pinnacle Peak four times a week, ski, scuba dive, and ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle. Gail also backpacked the Grand Canyon, bicycled across France, and enjoyed many other travels and adventures with her family and friends. She enjoyed a close-knit family who loved family get-togethers and canoeing at Buffalo River National Park, a beloved past-time from childhood.
Gail was a physical therapist for the Mayo Clinic in Arizona for more than 20 years before continuing her career in Jonesboro to be closer to family.
She is survived by her beloved mother (Betty Williams), father (Arlie Williams), brother (Terry Williams), and two sisters (Beth Quadir and Connie Wyles).
Visitation will be held at Emerson Funeral Home, Saturday, April 25, 2020, from 12:30 to 2:30. A graveside service at Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery to follow at 3:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association in hopes of one day finding a cure.
Finally, Gail and her family wish to thank all who came to visit her and sent cards during her illness. It was greatly appreciated.
Livestream services will be available on the Emerson Funeral Home Facebook page.
