Frederick Scott Straub

May 6, 1966 — September 15, 2023

Frederick Scott Straub, 57, of Jonesboro, passed away September 15th, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, after a brief but valiant struggle with cancer. He was born abroad May 6th, 1966, in Izmir, Turkey to the late Maj. Joseph and Barbara Straub, and was the youngest of five siblings.

Scott was a Nettleton alumnus and received his degree in law from the University of Arkansas Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. He was a proud Navy veteran, a lifelong fan of the Saints and Cardinals, and a staunch supporter of the March of Dimes and member of Optimist International.

He is survived by his sister, Patty Throgmartin; his brother-in-law, Danny Throgmartin; his nephew, Shay Throgmartin; his niece, Misty Alberda; and his best friends, Wayne McClard and Dr. Hans Hacker. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Michalle Kaylor and Stephanie McMurray; and his brother, John Straub.

We wish to extend special recognition to Vickie McNeal, Dr. Jeannie Ross of UAMS, and Susanne Adams for their steadfast dedication and support. We also wish to thank the staff at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House for their attentive care.

In lieu of flowers, the family instead requests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the March of Dimes.
