Frederick "Fred" Nelson Austin

Frederick “Fred” Austin, 79, of Jonesboro, died Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He had lived in Jonesboro for 16 years, moving here from Gosnell. Fred was of the Presbyterian belief. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Frederick Nelson Austin Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Kathy Austin, of the home; son, Jeff Austin (Teresa) of North Richland Hills, Texas; step-son, Travis Fischer (Lana) of Jonesboro; daughters, Teri Ramsey of Fort Worth Texas, Debbie Hays of Bowling Green, Missouri; Nicki Taylor of Lafayette, Indiana; Kelli Fischer of Decatur, Alabama; brother, Bob Austin of Mound City, Missouri; Rosalie Hurlbut of St. Joseph, Missouri; twelve grandchildren ; twenty-four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
