Freddie Gene Vinson

September 30, 1960 — September 9, 2021

Freddie Gene Vinson, 60, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, September 9, 2021, at his home. He was born in Lebanon, Tennessee to Ed and Alma Lee Vinson.  He attended Southwest Church of Christ.  Freddie served his country in the US Marine Corp and was a chaplain’s assistant.  He played football at JHS as #29.  Foosball was a sport he loved and excelled at it so much, that he was a championship contender.  He enjoyed having friends over to play darts, and he usually won.  He had the biggest heart of anybody you would ever meet and to Freddie, his greatest accomplishment was his son, Christopher.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his son, Christopher and his wife Emily of Jonesboro; brothers, Jimmy Vinson and wife Debbie of Las Vegas, Nevada; Eric Vinson of Venus, Texas; sisters, Dee Burch and husband Mike of Euless, Texas; sister Etta Hall and husband, Ron of Hardy, Arkansas; and his grandson, Noah Vinson.

Funeral services will be 6:00 Monday evening, September 13, 2021 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Ron Hall officiating.  Burial will be private.  Visitation will be from 5:00 Monday until service time.
