Freddie C. Lewis

Freddie C. Lewis, 68, of Jonesboro died on Friday at his residence.

Freddie was born on March 17, 1945 to the late Lester J. and Naomi Cox Lewis in Jonesboro. He was a graduate of Jonesboro High School, and Arkansas State University. He was a member of the Arkansas State University golf team, while earning his bachelors in business. He was a big Arkansas Razorback fan, and was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. He was owner/operator of Lewis Tent Rentals in Jonesboro, and he was also known for his fireworks sales.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Jim Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Burnett Lewis; one son, Hunter Lewis; one sister, Betty Ann Lewis Emerson all of Jonesboro; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Glen Putman officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.


Visitation will be from noon until service time on Monday. Pallbearers are Danny and Charles Harlan, Stacy Curry, Jackie West, Isaac Craig, and Jim Gillis. Honorary pallbearers are the Danny Harlan Sunday School Class at Walnut Street Baptist Church.

The family requests consideration of lasting memorials to the Walnut Street Baptist Church 1910 Scenic Road, Jonesboro, AR 72401, in loving memory of Freddie C. Lewis.
