The services for Rev. Gary Gandy who died on February 16, 2015 has been moved to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home.
Rev. Frank “Gary” Gandy, 69, of Brookland died on February 16, 2015 at his home. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of Liberty Community Church. Gary was born on April 16, 1945 to Frank and Laura Bell Gandy in Herget, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Laura Gandy; grandson, Mark Turner; sister, Louise Melena.
Gary is survived by his loving wife: Jean Gandy of the home; daughters, Karen Guntharp of Brookland and Rhonda Gandy of Hardy; step daughter, Terri Turner of Little Rock; son, Jerry Don Gandy (Lachelle) of Jonesboro; step sons, Mike Turner (Kaye) of Benton and Daryl Turner (Ruth) of West Ridge; grandchildren, Brittany Vaughn, Allan Vaughn, Bryson Gandy, Kingston Gandy, Rachel Hill, Randy Hill Jr., Rocky Hill, Michael Turner, and Summer Stapler; brothers, Larry Gandy, Pete Gandy, and Jack Gandy; sisters, Minnie Peaster, Patsy Newberry, Frances Gandy, and Genevn Glem. Gary also leaves behind nineteen great grandkids, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roma Adams officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Herman Cemetery with active pallbearers being Jerry Don Gandy, Allan Vaughn, Joey Ferguson, Mike Turner, Michael Turner, and Daryl Turner.
The honorary pallbearers will be Rocky Hill, Randy Hill Jr., Ray Stapler, Robert Martinez, Edward Wilson, and Jerry Stroud.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
