Frank Childers, 76, of Brookland died Tuesday February 12, at the NEA Baptist Hospital. He was born June 29, 1936 to Dwight and Nora Dickens Childers. Frank had lived in Brookland his entire lifetime and was of the Methodist belief.
He was a retired truck driver for Superior Forwarding and Yellow Freight for 32 years where he was a member of the Teamsters Union. Frank loved sports and was a licensed umpire for high school and little league baseball. He loved Basketball and he loved to watch his grandsons play ball. He was a 1955 graduate of Brookland High School.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Childers, 2 brothers, Preston and Eugene Childers.
Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Donna Childers of the home.
Son; Scott Childers and wife, Sheila of Brookland.
Daughters; Melanie Childers Clark and husband, Gary of Jonesboro and Holly Childers Baltz of Paragould.
4 grandchildren; Ryan Childers and wife, Lauren, Jordan Childers, Ethan Baltz and Blaine Baltz.
1 great grandson; Noah Childers
Sister; Maxine Hannah of Jonesboro.
Mother-in-law; Nellie Johnston of Brookland.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday February 15, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with
Bro. Bill Sardin and Bro. Rickey Hathcoat officiating. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Active pallbearers will be Rick Maynard, Dave Jackson, Greg Nall, David Hodges, Tony Elmore and
Tony Parish.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Pitman, Jerry Crocker and Employees of Yellow Freight.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 P.M. Thursday February 14, at Emerson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers family requests that you consider memorials be made to the Brookland United Methodist Church Building Fund, 301 W. Matthews Street Brookland, Arkansas 72417, or to the Pine Log Cemetery Association.
