Frank "Buddy" Stringer

November 17, 1948 — May 15, 2013

Frank “Buddy” Stringer, 64, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at his home. He was born in Fayetteville but lived in Jonesboro his entire life. Buddy was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church but attended Cherokee Village United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. He was a Marine Corps veteran, having served during the Vietnam Era. He was retired from River Cement Company and was currently the plant manager at Scurlock Industries. Buddy was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Big Island Hunting Club.

Buddy is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Donna Stringer of the home; his son, Vance Stringer of Los Angeles, California; his daughter Wendy Carson and her fiancé, Roger Colbert; his grandchildren, Bradyn Carson, Wil Carson, Allie Carson all of Jonesboro; his sister, Sue Lane France of Houston, Texas; and his father-in-law, Raymond Scarborough of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan H. & Phyllis Williams Stringer.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. John Miles II and Rev. Ted DeWeese officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Ron Blackburn, Sid Banks, Andy Peeler, Jim Scurlock, Drew Scurlock, Nick Brown, and Bill Ed Butler. Honorary pallbearers will include the Big Island Hunting Club and the employees of Scurlock Industries.

Visitation will be Friday noon – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
