Francis E. "Frank" Hanley

Francis Earl “Frank” Hanley, 66, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, August 12, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Sweetwater, Tennessee, Frank lived in Georgia before moving to Jonesboro in 1973. He owned and operated Frank and Sons Heat and Air in Jonesboro for several years. Frank was a graduate of the University of Georgia, was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed spending quality time with his son Bobby and supporting him and the Area 7 Special Olympics. Another great quality about Frank was that he was a supporter of St. Jude’s Hospital.

He enjoyed building and maintaining salt water aquariums and was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Lynn Hanley, by his parents: William and Willie Mae Jacobs Hanley, by a brother, Jack Hanley, and a sister, Betty Floyd.

Survivors include 6 sons: Francis Earl “Buddy” Hanley, II, of Minnesota,
Timothy Hanley of North Carolina,
Christopher Hanley of Atlanta,
Philip “P.J.” Hanley, Robert “Bobby” Hanley, and David Hanley, all of Jonesboro;

3 daughters, Monica Hasenfus of Georgia,
Michelle Parker of Iowa, and
Anastacia Hanley of Jonesboro;

1 brother, Bob Johns of Blytheville, and

11 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday evening at 7:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Byron Griffey officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 5-7 prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to Area 7 of Special Olympics, 372 CR 468, Jonesboro, AR 72404; The Learning Center, 2809 Fox Meadow Lane, Jonesboro, AR 72404, or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 505 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
