Frances "Francie" E. Workman

Frances E. "Francie" Workman, 65, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House following an extended illness.

Born in Elijah, Missouri, Francie lived in Hoxie before moving to Jonesboro in 1972. She earned Associate degrees at Crowley's Ridge College and Harding University, and Bachelor and Master Degrees from Arkansas State University. She began teaching in the fall of 1971 and retired in 2006.

Francie was a member of Greensboro Road Church of Christ where she was a Sunday school teacher. She married Bill Workman in 1972 and they were married 42 years until his death last year. Francie enjoyed reading, making wreaths for others, crocheting, making jewelry and singing.

In addition to her husband, Francie was preceded in death by her parents, Orves L. and Norma Elizabeth Pitcock Grisham.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Amy and Matt Cooper of Bono;Her son and daughter-in-law: Clayton Lee and Emily Kee Workman of Belew's Creek, North Carolina; 1 sister and brother-in-law: Karen and Douglas Massey of Batesville; 1 brother and sister-in-law: Charles N. and Nancy Grisham of Bradford; 3 grandchildren: Gage Pipkin, Austin Workman and Jonah Workman and special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Terry Joe Kee and Mark Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Church of Christ Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Dan Nichols, Randy Oden, Jody Picken, Jerry Dodson, Scottie Blanchard, Mark Wooten and Jason Garland. Honorary pallbearers include Marshall Lands, Steve Lands, Mike Felts, Kenneth Harp and Jeff Presley.

Visitation will be from Thursday, 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.
