Floyd L. Williams, 89, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House with his family by his side.

Floyd was born on August 14, 1927 in Leachville, AR to the late Roland B and Lela Bell Creson Williams. Floyd was Active duty and achieved the rank of Corporal in the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War. He earned the Korean Service Medal and three Bronze Service Stars during his time with the U.S. Army. He worked as a self-employed Insurance agent in the Memphis, TN area throughout his career. After his retirement he moved back to the Jonesboro area. He was an avid pool player, and he loved to go to the St. Bernards Senior Center. He enjoyed playing his harmonica and going with his family and friends to eat catfish. He was a faithful Christian and a member of the Grace Point Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven siblings.

He is survived by two sons, David Williams of Greenville, SC and Mark Williams (Tracie) of Memphis, TN; two daughters, Katherine Sherrell (Rich) of Las Vegas, NV and Carol White (Rick) of Jonesboro, AR; four sisters, Verne Williams of Michigan, Hallie Dixon of Alaska, Irene Jones of Oklahoma, and Betty Odell of Illinois; eleven grandchildren, Brandi Widick, Rebecca Cossey, Marlie Williams, Wade Williams, Wesley Williams, Tomee Auston, Anthony Auston, Ryan McGill, Amy McGee, Jessica Woods, and Matthew Williams; and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Monday at 11:00am with David Gibson officiating, and visitation will be from 10am till service time in the Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements. Honorary pallbearers will his pool playing buddies at the St. Bernards Senior Citizen Center.
