Floyd Carter Stonecipher

Floyd Carter "Stoney" Stonecipher, 73, of Paragould, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Born in St. Louis, Floyd lived many years in Jonesboro and Brookland before moving to Paragould in 1993. For many years Floyd worked in construction before going to work as the restaurant manager at Couch's Bar-B-Q in Paragould. Floyd was the long-time manager before the restaurant was sold to Ironhorse Bar-B-Q.

Floyd attended Valley View Schools and was a U.S. Army veteran. He liked hunting and fishing but thoroughly enjoyed going to his cabin in Hardy and spending time there with his family and friends. For many years Floyd was a member of the Barkley 600 Racing Team and traveled throughout northeast Arkansas, Southeast Missouri and western Tennessee racing with Ricky Barkley. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents: Carter and Yvonne Mulier Stonecipher; and three brothers: Charles, William "Bill" and Greg Stonechiper.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Stonecipher of the home;
1 son, James Timothy Stonecipher of Corning;
2 daughters and son-in-law: Dana Stonecipher Mitchem and husband Thomas, and
Sarah Clark all of Paragould;
1 sister, Sonie Daily of Arcola, Illinois;
2 grandsons and spouse, Eric and Emaly Stonecipher of Harrisburg and Scotty Clark of Paragould;
2 granddaughters and spouse, Lacy and Brian Green and Carli Stonecipher all of Paragould; and
3 great grandchildren: Emilia Stonecipher, Everett Stonecipher and Brynn Green.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Gaylon Taylor presiding. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time preceding the memorial service.

Honorary pallbearers include Barry Barkley, David Fletcher, Terry Reece, Jim Gillis, Glenn Gillis, Darrell McCoy, Mark Tolbert, Gary Thompson, Gaylon Taylor, Bill Taylor and Ronnie Joe Taylor, Lynn Scott, Mike Bradford, Elbert Bradford and former employees of and the round table coffee drinkers of Couch's Bar-B-Q Restaurant of Paragould.
