Floyd Eugene Flynn

Floyd Eugene Flynn passed away in his sleep at St. Bernard’s Medical Center on September 17, 2007. Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro will conduct a viewing and funeral service. The viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with Brother Matt Smith and Brother James Alford officiating. Pallbearers are Ken Davis, Keith Davis, Steve Davis, Brent Bohn, Timothy White, and Johnny Flynn. Interment will be in Monette Cemetery.

Floyd was born in 1933 in Lake City, Arkansas to R. B. and Malinda Flynn (deceased), and graduated from Lake City High where he played baseball and basketball for the Lake City Catfish. Throughout a career in sales, he co-owned a business with his brother, Harold and ran an exceptional restaurant in Little Rock, Flynn’s Catfish Inn, where many wonderful memories were born working with his three children. Floyd was the recipient of numerous Salesman of the Year awards and was an instructor for Dale Carnegie.

Floyd was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Richard Flynn. Survivors include his wife, Winnie Flynn, three children, Cheryl Walthall (Robert) of Scott, Arkansas; Kim Butler (Keith) of Russellville, Arkansas, and Kevin Flynn of Baltimore, Maryland. Three stepchildren; Robyn Copeland (Steve) of Greenville, South Carolina; Diane Busch of Marietta, Ohio; and Scott Hotchkiss (Ronda) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and four step-great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmy Flynn (Carolyn) of Arab, Alabama; three sisters; Dorothy White of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Shirley Guiltner (Jerry) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Linda Bohn (Phil) of West Palm Beach, Florida and a host of nieces and nephews.
